  2. Shape: Straight but irregular or cross-grained can occur depending on growth conditions; silver grained figure on quartered surfaces
  3. Texture: Medium to coarse
  4. Density/Weight: 720 kg/m3 (45 lb/ft3) Bristish & Baltic Oak 670 kg/m3 (42 lb/ft3) Slavonian oaks
  5. Specific Gravity: 67 to .72
